I just finished my weekend morning run when I was craving some pineapple. I guess running by the beach got me wishing for something tropical. So I decided to stop by my local fruit stall to get some fruits and fresh coconut water (out of the fruit, not from the can! :)).

I picked out some pretty looking papaya & pineapple and got the aunty to crack open a big, young coconut for me. I brought them home and had this idea to blend a tropical smoothie I love to call Pinepaya Tropical Smoothie (yumms!)

This smoothie is not only a thirst quencher but is rich in vitamins and provides a lot of health benefits (score!). Pineapple and papaya are rich in Vitamin C and papaya helps aid digestion. Coconut water is also a natural isotonic drink, which makes this smoothie especially great as a post workout smoothie or even as a snack. I also added a teaspoon of moringa powder (its highly rich in protein). Well, it's time to get some of that tropical goodness - get the recipe here:

INGREDIENTS

  • papaya (1)
  • pineapple (1)
  • coconut water (1 cup)
  • moringa powder (1 teaspoon)
  • ice cubes (a handful)

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut your papaya and pineapple into cubes and put into your blender.

2. Then add the coconut water, and the moringa powder next.

3. Add in ice cubes for thickness.
4. Blend for about 1 minute and keep pressing until smooth.
5. Pour it all in a tall glass and enjoy your Pinepaya Tropical Smoothie!
